You don't need talent to learn languages.

Have you been toying with the idea of learning a language as a new hobby? Now that you've got time to do something for yourself, push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Maybe you've wanted to learn Italian or Spanish for a while, but somehow, it's never been the right time to start? On holiday, you love hearing the language and promise yourself to start learning when you come back.

It's just hard to do it on your own - without a plan, materials, or someone to practise with and correct you.

At the Language Cafe you'll get all the support you need to achieve your goals. A relaxed atmosphere and interactive lessons will help you immerse yourself in the language and culture.

You'll start speaking the new language sooner than you think.

Have you been learning English for a while but wish to become fully fluent? Communicate with confidence. Say what you want without trying to remember the right word or worrying which tense to use. Using phrasal verbs like a pro. Not asking others to repeat because they sound too fast.

How would that feel?

It's never too late to learn languages. You're not bad at languages, you just need the right method.

How will you learn?

Whether you choose individual or group lessons, we'll focus on communication. You'll start speaking in your first class. Yes, even if you're a beginner. Don't worry, you'll get examples and build up to it first. I use lots of fun activities and games that will make learning a breeze.

The courses cover different topics that will let you talk about yourself, people and places around you, your interests, etc. You'll develop all language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking and put them in action right away. It's all about practice. After all, it makes perfect, right?

The classes at Language Cafe are like meeting friends for a chat, only in a foreign language. The groups are small so that everyone gets plenty of practice and correction. You'll learn to hold simple conversations, use the language in real-life situations before diving deep into grammar. Even then, you'll learn grammar through dialogues and games, unlike the old-school methods.

But, if you expect only repeating words and sentences, going through verb tables and dry memorising, my courses may not be your cup of tea.

English Courses

I offer bespoke lessons for individuals, pairs and small groups, including in-company courses. They are fully tailored to your goals and learning preferences. You can choose from a range of general and business English courses, or exam preparation. All lessons are online via MS Teams.

We arrange the timetable individually for each course.

Frequently asked questions

What if I can't attend a class?

You will receive all materials and notes from the lesson so you can catch up. Also, each class starts with a review so you can check if you got everything right.

There might be a possibility to join another group at the same level if there is space available, but I can't guarantee that.

What will I need to do during the lesson?

All learners are expected to actively participate. We will use various activities including speaking practice. At the beginning there will be more practice in a group, later in the course we will use breakout rooms for practice in pairs. Sometimes students will be asked to write something in the chat. It's important that everyone is active and has their camera and microphone turned on.

Are the lessons recorded?

No. I want everyone to feel comfortable in class, free to use the language without worrying who may see it afterwards. What happens in class, stays in class! For many people, knowing that you're being recorded adds an extra layer of stress and makes learning less enjoyable.

Plus, distributing recorded classes carries a risk of a data protection breach. Instead of a recording of the lesson, you get a summary that helps you revise the material. This way you actively learn, not just passively consume the content.

Do I need to get an app to participate in a course?

No. You'll get a link to the course on completion of your enrolment. You can join the classes by clicking on it. No need to download or install any programmes. It's OK if you're not a tech whizz.

All you need is a device, ideally a computer as we'll be using presentations and materials on the screen, and a good internet connection. If you want to do a test call before the course, let me know and we'll arrange it.
